Mikeno lodge
Mikeno lodge is among the luxury accommodation properties located in Virunga national park. The lodge is destined in area with magnificent views of a rift valley and Nyiragongo volcano. Lulimbi tented camp has ten well-constructed and comfortable canvas tents built at the shoreline of Ishasha River, on the savannah plains of Vuringa national park. The camp is destined in the heart of Virunga and hosts a number of elephants and hippos.
The location of Lulimbi tented camp offers good access to savannah wildlife and trained rangers; Guests’ wilderness experience starts right from their room!
Out of the 10 private tents at Lulimbi tented camp, four have two twin beds, four with double beds and two with three beds. Each tent has an en suite bathroom with a solar powered shower and a flushing toilet. All tents overlook Ishasha River and have private verandas positioned to watch the passing hippos.
Rates for the camp are inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner however, alcoholic drinks come at an extra cost.
Lulimbi tented camp has a dining tent with a restaurant and well-stocked bar.

Bukima Tented Camp
Bukima tented camp is a semi luxury accommodation located just outside the Virunga National Park boundary. Bukima is one of the main starting points for Virunga mountain gorilla trekking experiences. This lodge was formerly built for researchers, but currently it is mostly used by tourists intending to go for gorilla trekking. Just like the name of this property, travelers at Bukima sleep in platform tents but the camping standards are quite luxurious. Each tent is well equipped with standard beds overlooking the magnificent views of Mt. Mikeno, whose height goes for 4437m (14,560′) above the sea level. Across the valley is stunning active mount Nyiragongo volcano, whose lava lake colors the night sky with a red glow. Every few years, this mountain erupts and steals the nighttime show by spewing hot lava hundreds of feet into the air. The last eruption happened on 27th May 2021 after 9 years.

Tchengera Island camp
Tchegera Island Camp is located off the northern shore of Lake Kivu in Virunga National Park, just 30 minutes boat ride from Goma and offers standard safari accommodation to tourists on an isolated and horseshoe-shaped island.
The camp is an ideal accommodation for tourists to stay after an adventurous mount Nyiragongo hiking and Goma city tour. Each tent opens up to Lake Kivu and the four volcanoes of Virunga region. The main building is a simple mess tent and includes a lounge, dining and bar.
Tchegera Island Camp has a total of eight simple but comfortable safari-style tented rooms and can be set as single, double and twins; sitting on black sandy shore of the island. All tents have flushing toilets, bucket showers, sockets and lights powered by a generator. More so, tents have verandas to enable guest sit outside and relax while enjoying the sunset over the lake.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served communally in the main mess tent. Usually after dinner, hurricane lamps and a campfire are set up at the beach. Be keen to watch mountain Nyiragongo and Nyamulagira volcanoes turn the night sky red.
The rate for a single room at this camp is $168 and $226 for a double and twin tent. These rates are subject to change without prior notice.
