The Tchegera package is a stand-alone tour that can be added to either the Nyiragongo or Mikeno Mist packages for visitors interested to relax and enjoy the beach after the challenging adventure excursions in the Virunga national park. You can stay as many nights as you can at the island with Tchegera Tented Camp.
Tchegera Tented Camp is located on the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Kivu, to be particular, on Tchegera Island which is famous for its distinct crescent shape. On clear nights, the island offers remarkable views of the active Nyiragongo and Nyamuragira volcanoes. The two highest Virunga volcanoes of Mikeno and Karisimbi can also be spotted from the island as well as sweeping landscapes of Lake Kivu and its surroundings.

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Tchegera Island
Pick up and drive to Kituku port to board a boat to the Island. Enjoy the great sceneries during your journey and arrival at Tchegera Island camp on time for lunch. You will be warmly welcomed by professional waiters and waitress with a cold glass of juice, relax and check in to your room. You may take a nature walk to the Island or remain at the camp to relax and enjoy and check into one of the 10 cottages on the island. After lunch, you may opt to spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the breezes of beach. Get dinner and enjoy the camp fire set up by the lodge to warm your body.
Day 2: Depart from Tchegera Island back to Goma
Wake up in the morning to catch up with the sunrise and enjoy your last moments at the Tchegera Island with a cup of hot coffee and later take a boat ride to the main land. This is a 1hours cruise. Meet your guide and drive to Goma for drop off. If you have time, you may some souvenirs to commemorate your visit to DR Congo
